Currently based in New York, Lexi Zhu is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in the Illustration department at the School of Visual Arts. Born in New York but raised in Hong Kong, she is a freelance illustrator and designer inspired by animations, children’s books, and her love for cats. Lexi uses color and line to sequentially explore lighter subjects such as intimacy and nostalgia, as she believes that art serves an important role in bringing brightness into our current world of chaos. She currently runs her own online store, hosts storefronts across various art conventions, and fulfills various illustration and design commissions.
Her interest in arts began at a young age, and flourished after majoring in BTEC in Art in Design in highschool. Her art has been recognized by many awards and nominations, including the ESF Abraham Shek Award, Silas H. Rhodes Scholarship, SVA Alumni Society Jack Potter Memorial Award, and the Robert Eric Farmer award.
